FAQ
Q: Can anyone come out and shoot at the range?
A: The Gainesville Target Range is a membership only facility open to the public. In other words, to come out and shoot you must become a member.
Q: How do I join?
A: All new members must attend a safety orientation class before they can shoot at the range. We hold this class once a week at the range clubhouse. The class is held every Sunday starting promptly at 5:00 PM. Safety is our FIRST concern. We also ask that you maintain an active membership to the NRA. You may fill out an application at the orientation or you can download one HERE to fill out and bring with you.
Q: OK, so what is all this going to cost me?
A: A regular annual membership is $250. This includes FL sales tax and the processing fee of $50 for insurance and your range ID card. Spouses can join for just an additional $50. If you let your membership lapse for over 3 months, you will be subject to an additional processing fee of $50 AND must retake the range safety orientation. A 10% discount is applied if you renew for 2 years at once. See the membership application for additional membership offers.
Q: So what do I get for that?
A: Full time access to the safest range in North Central Florida 7 Days a week, 8AM to Dusk, if you were so inclined.

A: The Gainesville Target Range consists of 5 separate outdoor ranges. We have two 100-yard rifle range, one 75 yard tactical range and two 25-yard handgun ranges. There are covered shooting positions at all ranges with room for 15 to 20 shooters at each range. We have a covered pavillion with restrooms and the entire range is handicap accessible. Q: Do you provide targets to shoot at?
A: You must bring your own paper targets, but we supply the cardboard backers and target support stands to mount your targets onto. Specifics will be covered in the range briefing you attend before becoming a member.
